I really enjoyed the event and appreciated that it was such a small group. I found it useful to get past the 'blank page'. I haven't done any drawing for decades and have never had much confidence in my abilities however, the tutor was patient and a great source of knowledge

A highly enjoyable outdoor session. Luckily the weather was kind to us. Our tutor was extremely knowledgeable and kind, particularly around the direction and impact of light and how to represent this by shading with graphite pencils. We also covered perspective, focus in a picture, sizing and placing of still life objects within a page. My technique has already improved as a result.

Title or Location: I hate a hair cut
This self-portrait is painted as a bit of fun. That?s not to say it doesn?t have a value. I am a strong believer in a bit of entertainment in ?art?. If you don?t engage your audience, why should they bother look? Throughout art history artist have used composition, colour, draughtsmanship and shock to entice the viewer to look. Raising a smile is no bad addition.I was a wan-a-be hippy and really do not like a haircut. This may also stem from the short back and sides ?5 Star Hairdressing? wou

My art "Authenticity"This piece represents my journey of transformation ? a journey of becoming the truest and most authentic version of myself. It is about releasing limiting beliefs, breaking free from old patterns, and leaving behind the masks I once wore to fit expectations and seek acceptance. The act of removing the mask symbolizes letting go of the false identities that no longer serve me and embracing who I truly am.At its heart, this artwork carries a powerful message: be aut

This is Marley, one of my loopy border collies. I managed to take the reference photo for this drawing in one of his quiet moments, while he was hugging his favourite toy and stopping his brother Bob from stealing it! It was a challenge drawing him on pastelmat as I'm not too experienced with it but quiete happy with how he came out! He's drawn in a mix of faber castel polychromos, caran d'ache luminance and some derwent drawing pencils.

I loved this photograph from John Strachan photography and finally got around to painting it in acrylic. I tried to be quite loose with the painting as there was so much detail. in the end I thought the sky looked a bit bare so with the help of Chat GPT I added seagulls to the photo and was then able to paint them into my art work. This painting will be heading for the Aberdeen art show the end of August for sale.
